Sarah Boulton

"Growing up in Melbourne and moving to Castlemaine in 2000, I draw on the visual juxtaposition between urban and industrial landscapes. Primarily I deconstruct the natural environments in the surrounding Central Victorian Goldfields.
I create tactile impressions, incorporating pen and ink, acrylic and macro images. The images transverse the interior and exterior on an empathetically cellular level.
My work amalgamates aerial views through an axial landscape. Using my internal lens I create architecture of the mind. These complex terrains have a morphic resonance, which subsequently facilitate the occurrences found in geological synergy.
My work represents the urban activity in a rural setting. The pace of urban life is condensed within the rural landscape just as in nature. I endeavour through my work to communicate an internal dialogue to give us insight into what lies beyond the surface.” Sarah Boulton
