Tanya Stubbles

“On The Road” Artist Statement:
“Car culture has a long and rich history across the world and is an integral part of Australian experience. My series exploring car culture is heavily inspired by my early teenage years and childhood growing up in the country town of Nowra NSW.
…the series explores intimately our own relationships with cars, the landscape that we live in and being on the road. The works are evocative of landscape and invite the viewer to explore their own personal histories.
I am thrilled to express this passion and the important role that car culture plays through my work. The series is my homage to an iconic aspect of Australian culture that has a significant effect on my life both in my youth and today.”
